Does it make it easier in that you'd like to cover more territory you haven't been to or re-visit places you've been? There's a habit of "collecting countries" so that you can say that you've been on every continent, providing a wider view of the wolrd. Recently, I've looked more into diving deeper into the places I already know. Of course, that doesn't say that I'm not going to buy you a drink soon to get some insight on New Zealand, a country I'm visiting for the first time in December.

I've heard a story of a couple who have a fez in their living room filled with small pieces of paper, each with a city or country they'd like to visit. When they need to decide where to travel next, they simply reach in the hat. I wonder how often they agree to chance...

I have read many articles about this point. Depending on the species this bear belongs there different ways of behaviour. In most cases you have to stand calmly, with no sound or movement. Lying like a dead animal might help also. But there are bears, that will surely attack if see motionless beings - one has to shout, wave hands and start attacking the bear. You are luck the bear you have met was not hungry or lost his interest to you...

chris sounds like an incredibly responsible fella. outdoorplaces.com - the foremost expert in outdoor safety - recommends the whistle as a good preventitive device.
